Reptiles and rubbish

It is not only seabirds that are injured by discarded rubbish, reptiles are also often in our care after entanglement with discarded garden netting or even discarded cans.

This Green tree snake was rescued by out Rescue Ambulance after becoming entangled in netting earlier this year and this Red-bellied black-snake had to be cut out of a drink can.

Luckily for both these reptiles WIRES was there to help and both were able to be released back to the wild.

As Keep Australia Beautiful Week draws to a close please dispose of all rubbish carefully all year round and help our wildlife stay healthy and happy in a cleaner environment.
